Alloy Wheel Refurbishment
Alison runs the refurbishing side of the business. After the tyres are removed the wheels are chemically stripped of their old finish and cleaned in a non-corrosive chemical tank. The wheels are then carefully bead blasted using a fine aluminium oxide to remove any corrosion and pitting in the surface. This process highlights any imperfections or damage which is then repaired by Ian and Ben prior to preparation for powder coating. The wheels are pre heated and then primed with a powered primer. Next they are then either powder coated or wet painted, in any colour or to the original manufacturer’s specifications. The process is finished off with a powered lacquer which will protect and enhance the finish to ensure a high quality finish that will last for many years to come.
Wheels with 2 or 3 piece split rims are normally dismantled prior to refinishing.
